This is a fully functional Thermotron SM-8C Temperature/Humidity Test Chamber (-68oC to +177oC, 20% to 95% R.H., 8 cu.ft.) in great cosmetic and working conditions. This environmental chamber has been very well maintained and was recently fully tested and validated by our engineer. The chamber’s temperature cooling rate, heating rate, and the temperature/humidity tolerance are within manufacturer’s specifications. The testing data against the specifications are shown in the following Table. The chamber has a temperature range of -68 oC to +177 oC and humidity range from 20% to 95% R.H. (in the dry bulb range from + 5° to + 85° C).
Different temperatures with different humidity levels were tested in accordance with certain IEC criteria, including the most used temperature humidity conditions: 25oC / 95%RH, 40oC / 93%RH, 65oC / 95%RH, 85oC / 85% RH, -68oC, -40oC, 25oC, 120oC, 150oC, and 179oC. The chamber is a complete ready-to-use system with everything needed for a lab testing operation (serious potential buyers are welcome to do on-site inspection and trial-runs). Technical support will be provided to the buyer for the initial applications, if requested. The functionalities of the compressor, heating elements, water supply and drain system, and humidity and temperature control system have just been thoroughly checked and validated. The chamber uses 208 - 230 Volts single phase 60 H power. The operator's electronic manuals for both the chamber and the controller will be provided with the chamber.
The Theromtron SM-8C is equipped with a Therm-Alarm controller. The Therm-Alarm monitors the chamber temperature at the products under test. The Therm-Alarm provides product protection from extremely high and low temperatures. I the product temperature exceeds either limit, the Therm-Alarm disables the control circuit at the chamber circulators. This cuts off all power to the control circuitry.
In addition, this chamber comes with a demineralizer cartridge and holder connected to a water pump system, filling a water tank with float valve to provide DI water to the humidity system’s steam generator.
Temperature and humidity conditions are controlled by a two channel 2800 Programmer/Controller. Channel 1 senses the chamber temperature using a dry bulb thermocouple input. Its outputs control the heating and cooling systems. Channel 2 senses the chamber humidity. Its outputs control the humidity system’s steam generator and dehumidify coil.
